 Domestic Violence Awareness

Month

Sista2Sista Incorporated and other organizations around the world take the opportunity to educate and help Victims of Domestic & Family Violence throughout the year yet this month is dedicated to the cause of Domestic Violence Awareness and we are calling on you to become involved and help to make a difference for a victim, a family , your community!

What can you do?

  • Volunteer for our Nationwide Resource & Referral Hotline or any other hotline in your state.

  • If you are a religious leader, give a sermon or khutbah on healthy marriages during the month.

  • Invite a speaker to your mosque or Islamic Center from a local DV Awareness Agency or Shelter to come share information and/or resources.

  • Have a Purple Ribbon Campaign Fundraiser Party/Gathering and help to raise funds for a local shelter/hotline or advocacy service.

  • If you are Professional in the field of DV – Become a resource in our Nationwide Database for Muslim Communities and Communities of Color.

  • There are many activities that you can do that will assist in helping victims and their families, educating others and building relationships that will foster better outcomes for us all.

  • Join us today in the fight to beat this hidden epidemic! Become an ally to a cause worth fighting for. Domestic and Family Violence destroys families and affects communities of faith and color. We have the most unreported, underreported and highest rates of abuse and death related to Domestic/Family Violence… this is an epidemic that requires better outreach, empirically based treatment and YOU!
